Why does a larger valve clearance give better performance at top ends? I thought the Idea was a longer opening time for the engine to breathe, i.e. intake and exhaust to make a better filling to the cylinder. Thatīs the idea behind 4 or even 5 valve cylinder heads. More valve clearance however means shorter opening time thus less time to fill the cylinder leading to less filling.
Doesnīt make sense to me - what do I miss?
